Wood-Tikchik State Park

Wood-Tikchik State Park, near Dillingham, Alaska, covers about 1.6 million acres, making it the largest state park in the United States. It consists of two parallel systems of large, glacially carved lakes, the Wood River Lakes to the south and the Tikchik Lakes to the north, set within roadless wilderness. The park's rivers and lakes are critical spawning habitat feeding into Bristol Bay, home to one of the largest sockeye salmon runs in the world. With no roads or maintained trails, the park is accessible only by floatplane or boat.
