A section of the Appalachian Trail crosses through the park on its way through northern New Jersey. The ruins of the Wawayanda Furnace, a 19th-century iron blast furnace, remain within the park as a reminder of the region's historic iron industry. Hiking, fishing, and camping around the lake are the park's main draws today.
