Watoga State Park, near Marlinton, West Virginia, is the largest state park in West Virginia at roughly 10,000 acres. Its collection of cabins and buildings built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s is among the most extensive in the state park system. The park sits near the Greenbrier River Trail, a long rail-trail following the route of a former railroad through the Greenbrier Valley. Watoga also includes the Brooks Memorial Arboretum, showcasing native tree species found throughout the surrounding Allegheny Mountains.
