Iron-on patch

Walt Disney World

$8.00

Walt Disney World Resort is an entertainment resort in Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, Florida, about 20 miles southwest of downtown Orlando. It opened on October 1, 1971, with the Magic Kingdom as its first theme park. Walt Disney planned the project but died on December 15, 1966, before construction began; his brother Roy O. Disney saw it through and named it Walt Disney World in his memory. Disney used dummy corporations to assemble about 27,400 acres starting in 1964, and after later land sales, including the site of Celebration, the resort covers nearly 25,000 acres. It holds four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom), two water parks and more than 30 Disney-owned hotels.
