Iron-on patch

Virginia Beach Boardwalk

$8.00

The Virginia Beach Boardwalk is a three-mile concrete promenade along the Atlantic at the Oceanfront, with a separate bike path running beside it. It began in 1888 as a wooden walkway five blocks long, built as tourism grew after the railroad reached the beach in 1883. Substantially updated in 1988, it now links about forty hotels with restaurants, shops, the 14th Street Fishing Pier, Naval Aviation Monument Park and the King Neptune statue at 31st Street. In summer Beach Street USA stages free street performances along it, and in winter cars drive the boardwalk for Holiday Lights at the Beach.
