Iron-on patch

ViBe Creative District

$8.00

The ViBe Creative District is Virginia Beach's arts and cultural district, a few blocks inland from the Oceanfront in the Old Beach area around 18th Street and Baltic Avenue. The City of Virginia Beach set its boundary by ordinance on April 21, 2015 and declared it an arts and cultural district and technology zone, after local business owners Andrew Fine and Laura Wood Habr began organizing the neighborhood in 2011. Its streets are covered in public art: murals on walls and fences, painted utility boxes, creative crosswalks and paver artworks at the 19th Street intersection. Coffee roasters, restaurants, studios and shops fill the district, and on Saturdays the Old Beach Farmers Market and the Old Beach Art & Eco Market set up. The name is short for Virginia Beach: Vi for Virginia and Be for Beach.
