Turner Hall is a four-story brick hall at 1034 North Fourth Street, now Vel R. Phillips Avenue, in downtown Milwaukee, built in 1882 for the Milwaukee Turners, a German-American gymnastic, cultural and political society founded in 1853. Architect Henry C. Koch designed it in a High Victorian style with a pyramid-capped central tower, and an addition followed in 1899. Inside, murals by German immigrant artists and stained glass windows bearing the Turners' political slogans survive. The hall was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1996, and its restored ballroom, the Turner Hall Ballroom, now hosts a wide range of concerts alongside a restaurant, beer hall and basement gymnasium.
