Iron-on patch

The Mob Museum

$8.00

The Mob Museum, officially the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, occupies the former Las Vegas Post Office and Courthouse on Stewart Avenue in downtown Las Vegas, two blocks north of Fremont Street. The 1933 building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the federal government sold it to the city for $1 in 2000 on condition that it be restored for a cultural use. The museum opened on February 14, 2012, under the creative direction of Dennis Barrie. Its centerpiece is the second-floor courtroom that hosted one of the Kefauver Committee's organized-crime hearings in 1950–1951, and it also displays the brick wall from the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre. A working speakeasy and distillery, The Underground, opened in the basement in 2018.
