Iron-on patch

Sundance Square

$8.00

Sundance Square is a 35-block commercial, residential and entertainment district in the center of downtown Fort Worth, named after the Sundance Kid of Western folklore. The Bass family drove much of its redevelopment, starting with the Caravan of Dreams arts center, which opened in 1983 behind two 1880s facades on Houston Street. Today its blocks hold restaurants, bars, shops and hotels, plus the Bass Performance Hall, opened in 1998 and home to the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Texas Ballet Theater, Fort Worth Opera and the Van Cliburn competition. The 1914 Burk Burnett Building, Fort Worth's first skyscraper, and the Sid Richardson Museum of Western art are here too. A mural on one building commemorates the Chisholm Trail cattle drives of 1867 to 1875, and Sundance Square Plaza at the center hosts live music on most evenings.
