Silver Falls State Park

Silver Falls State Park, near Silverton, Oregon, is the largest state park in Oregon, built around a canyon carved by Silver Creek. Its Trail of Ten Falls loop passes ten named waterfalls, including South Falls, which drops 177 feet and allows hikers to walk on a path behind the curtain of falling water. The area was nearly logged and developed before conservation efforts in the early 20th century led to its protection as a state park in the 1930s. Its combination of old-growth forest and closely spaced waterfalls makes it one of the most visited parks in Oregon.
