The S'edav Va'aki Museum, known until March 2023 as the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park, is a City of Phoenix museum at a Hohokam village site near Sky Harbor Airport that has been a National Historic Landmark since 1964. The Hohokam, whom the O'odham call Huhugam, lived here from about AD 450 to 1450 and built one of the largest platform mounds they ever raised, along with dwellings and ball courts. The village sat at the headgates of several large canals on the north side of the Salt River, part of the most extensive irrigation system in pre-Columbian North America, and the longest canal from here carried water more than 16 miles toward modern Glendale; remnants survive in the Park of Four Waters. Thomas Armstrong donated the mound to the city in 1924, and in 1929 Odd S. Halseth became the site's director and the first city archaeologist in the United States. The museum also serves as the repository for the City of Phoenix's archaeological collections.
