Iron-on patch

Santa Monica Pier

$8.00

The Santa Monica Pier is a large pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, made up of two adjoining piers: the Municipal Pier, opened in 1909, and the Pleasure Pier built in 1916 by Charles I. D. Looff and his son Arthur. It holds Pacific Park, a small amusement park with a solar-panelled Ferris wheel, and the 1922 carousel inside the Looff Hippodrome, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. An End of the Trail sign on the pier marks it as the symbolic western end of Route 66. The pier also has an aquarium run by Heal the Bay, restaurants and arcades, and its west end is a popular fishing spot.
