Iron-on patch

San Marco

$8.00

San Marco is a neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida, south of downtown across the St. Johns River. It was once the independent town of South Jacksonville, incorporated in 1907 and annexed by Jacksonville in 1932, and it takes its name from the upscale San Marco development that broke ground in 1925. Its commercial heart is San Marco Square, a triangular district named after Venice's Piazza San Marco, with the 1927 Mediterranean Revival San Marco Building, the 1938 Art Deco San Marco Theatre and a fountain with three lion statues. Balis Park, at the center of the square, was expanded into a larger pedestrian green in 2013.
