Roosevelt Row is downtown Phoenix's arts district, a walkable stretch of Roosevelt Street in the Evans-Churchill neighborhood lined with murals, galleries, performance spaces, restaurants, bars and independent shops. It is best known as the home of First Fridays, the monthly evening art walk held since 1994, which has grown into one of the largest monthly art walks in the United States and draws up to 20,000 people. Street art by local artists such as La Morena, Ashley Macias, Thomas "Breeze" Marcus and Lalo Cota covers walls across the area, and the 1½ Street Mural Project near The Churchill gathers many murals in one place. The nonprofit Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation oversees the district's development, and the First Friday A.R.T.S. Market brings up to 150 vendors of locally made goods. This patch covers Roosevelt Street from Central Avenue east to 16th Street.
