Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center

$8.00

Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center is a 317-acre nonprofit arboretum, botanical garden, nature center and historical site at 400 Garden Road in Chattanooga, along Lookout Creek at the western foot of Lookout Mountain. John and Margaret Chambliss created the riding to a vision they laid out in the 1940s, and it was incorporated in 1956, dedicated to the study and conservation of native plant life. More than 1,000 plant species grow there, including over 150 kinds of trees, along a three-mile driving loop through woodland gardens, wildflower meadows and ponds and on miles of walking trails. The nature center keeps live animals and has bred endangered red wolves for the Species Survival Plan since 1996. The formerly separate arboretum and the Chattanooga Nature Center combined their boards and management in 2011.
