Reedy Creek Nature Preserve

$8.00

Reedy Creek Nature Preserve is a 737-acre forested preserve beside the 125-acre Reedy Creek Park, at 2900 Rocky River Road in the Newell area of northeast Charlotte, North Carolina. Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation runs the preserve and the park together. The preserve has more than ten miles of hiking trails, and its nature center has exhibit halls, classrooms, a gift shop and a National Wildlife Federation certified habitat garden with bird-feeding stations. One of the trails leads to the ruins of the John Robinson Rock House, a stone house from the 1780s. The nature center's annual Hummingbird Festival draws up to 3,000 visitors.
