Iron-on patch

Prospect Park

$8.00

Prospect Park is a 526-acre urban park in Brooklyn, laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux after their work on Central Park. It sits between Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Flatbush and Windsor Terrace, next to Grand Army Plaza, the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The first section opened in 1867, and the park was substantially complete by 1873. Its landmarks include the 90-acre Long Meadow, the wooded Ravine, the Boathouse, the Prospect Park Zoo and Brooklyn's only lake, which covers 60 acres. Part of the Battle of Long Island was fought on its grounds in 1776, and the park is a New York City scenic landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
