Ponca State Park

Ponca State Park sits on bluffs above the Missouri River near the town of Ponca, Nebraska, overlooking one of the river's last remaining unchannelized, free-flowing stretches. This section of river is part of the federally designated Missouri National Recreational River corridor, preserved in a more natural state than most of the heavily engineered Missouri downstream. The park's bluff-top trails offer wide views over the river and notable fall foliage. Its relatively undeveloped riverfront is a rarity along a river otherwise reshaped by decades of dams and channelization.
