Iron-on patch

Point Park

$8.00

Point Park is a 16-acre park on the northern summit of Lookout Mountain, part of the Lookout Mountain Battlefield unit of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, in the town of Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Its overlooks, monuments and cannon positions interpret the Battle of Lookout Mountain, the "Battle Above the Clouds" of November 24, 1863, and the other Battles for Chattanooga. Visitors enter through a gate completed in 1905, the largest emblem of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the world, beside the Lookout Mountain Battlefield Visitor Center, which displays James Walker's large painting of the battle. Inside, the 95-foot New York Peace Monument, completed in 1907, is the tallest monument in the military park, and the Ochs Museum and Observatory sits out at the point. An entrance fee is charged, and the Incline Railway's upper station, named Point Park, is a short walk south.
