The Paseo Arts District is a small arts neighborhood along Paseo Drive, just north of NW 28th Street in Oklahoma City. It was built in 1929 by developer G.A. Nichols as the Spanish Village, the first commercial shopping district north of downtown, and its stucco buildings with clay-tile roofs still line the curving street. Early tenants included a swimming pool called the Paseo Plunge, a drug store, a dry cleaner and restaurants. Since the 1980s artists have filled the old storefronts with galleries, studios, restaurants and bars, and the district hosts the Paseo Arts Festival every Memorial Day weekend and a First Friday Gallery Walk each month. Old Trinity of Paseo, an 1842 church moved here from New Brunswick, Canada, also stands in the district.
