Organ Stop Pizza

$8.00

Organ Stop Pizza is a pizza restaurant at 1149 E. Southern Avenue in Mesa, Arizona, known as the home of the largest Wurlitzer theatre organ in the world. The core of the organ was installed in 1927 in the Denver Theatre in Denver, Colorado, to accompany silent films; it was rebuilt for Organ Stop in 1975 and later expanded with parts of other Wurlitzers to four manuals and 82 ranks. It has more than 6,000 pipes, the largest 32 feet long, fed by turbine blowers that move 10,000 cubic feet of air, and it is played 363 days a year, which makes it the most-played organ in the world. The first Organ Stop opened in Phoenix in 1972, a Mesa location followed in 1975, and in 1995 the restaurant moved into its current building near Southern Avenue and Stapley Drive, twice the size of the original.
