Iron-on patch

Oklahoma History Center

$8.00

The Oklahoma History Center is the state history museum of Oklahoma, operated by the Oklahoma Historical Society. It opened in 2005 on an 18-acre site at 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive, across the street from the Governor's Mansion near the State Capitol. Its galleries cover the state's 39 American Indian tribes, the oil and gas industry, farming and ranching, the Dust Bowl, the land runs, military history, transportation and the African American experience. The Kerr-McGee Gallery shows items from an 1830s riverboat excavated from the Red River, and the Gaylord gallery holds the Skylab 4 command module and moon rocks from Apollo 11 and Apollo 17. Each year the museum hosts the state level of the National History Day competition.
