Iron-on patch

National Archives

$8.00

The National Archives Building, known informally as Archives I, is the headquarters of the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, on the north side of the National Mall. Its Rotunda for the Charters of Freedom displays the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights, which have been on public view here since 1952. Museum visitors enter on Constitution Avenue NW between 7th and 9th Streets; 700 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, on the other side of the building, is its street address and research entrance. The neoclassical building was designed by John Russell Pope in the 1930s, and a larger second facility, Archives II, opened in College Park, Maryland, in 1993.
