Morro Rock, known as Le'samo to the Salinan and Lisamu' to the Chumash, is a volcanic plug at the entrance to Morro Bay harbor on the California coast. A causeway connects it to the shore, making it a tied island. The rock is protected as the Morro Rock State Preserve. It is the most prominent of a chain of volcanic peaks running inland from the coast.
