Meramec State Park, near Sullivan, Missouri, follows a stretch of the Meramec River and is one of the most visited parks in the Missouri system. Fisher Cave, within the park, offers guided tours through limestone passages and formations. The Meramec is a popular river for canoeing and floating, with several outfitters operating nearby. Cabins and other structures in the park were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and remain part of its facilities today.
