Log Cabin Village

$8.00

Log Cabin Village is a living history museum in Fort Worth, owned and operated by the city, that shows how Texans lived in the 1800s. Its six mid-19th-century log houses were moved from sites in north and central Texas and restored in the 1950s and early 1960s, and the village opened to the public in 1966. Interpreters in 19th-century dress demonstrate frontier skills around a water-powered gristmill, a one-room schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop and an herb garden. The village has kept growing, adding the 1850s Foster Cabin in 1974, the 1870s Marine School in 2003 and the Reynolds Smokehouse, moved from Azle in 2004. It sits beside Forest Park, a short walk from the Fort Worth Zoo.
