Iron-on patch

Little Island Park

$8.00

Little Island Park is a 122-acre city beach park at 3820 Sandpiper Road in Sandbridge, at the southern end of Virginia Beach just north of Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. A 400-foot fishing pier splits the shore, with a 775-foot surfing beach to the north and a 2,000-foot beach for swimming and fishing to the south, and city lifeguards cover the beach daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. On its west side the park runs down to Back Bay, a brackish lake used for crabbing, fishing and launching kayaks. The park also has picnic shelters, a playground, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, and a paid parking lot that doubles as the overnight lot for campers heading into False Cape State Park.
