Lake Murray State Park

Lake Murray State Park, near Ardmore, is Oklahoma's largest and first officially designated state park, developed in the 1930s largely with Civilian Conservation Corps labor. Among its landmarks is Tucker Tower, a stone lookout tower built in that era as a planned retreat for the governor, though it was never actually used for that purpose and now houses a small nature museum. The park surrounds Lake Murray, a large reservoir popular for boating, fishing, and camping. Its combination of size and historic CCC construction makes it a centerpiece of the Oklahoma state park system.
