Kankakee River State Park follows the Kankakee River for several miles near the city of Kankakee, Illinois. At Rock Creek, a tributary within the park, the river cuts through exposed limestone, forming small rapids and rock outcrops unusual for this part of Illinois. The park is a popular put-in and take-out point for canoeing and kayaking the Kankakee River itself. An old iron truss bridge and remnants of a historic dam are among the park's other features.
