History Park at Kelley Park

$8.00

History Park at Kelley Park is an open-air museum at the south end of Kelley Park in San Jose, laid out as a small Santa Clara Valley town of the early 1900s. Since it opened in 1971, 32 historic buildings have been moved to the site or rebuilt as replicas, among them the Pacific Hotel, the Empire Fire House, a Bank of Italy branch, a working print shop and a doctor's office. A half-scale replica of the San Jose Electric Light Tower, which once rose 237 feet over downtown, stands over the main street, and volunteers run a vintage trolley along the length of the park on weekends. The park is operated by the nonprofit History San José, which has its headquarters there, and admission is free except during special events.
