Historic Ships in Baltimore

$8.00

Historic Ships in Baltimore is a floating museum of historic ships and a lighthouse, led by the 1854 sloop-of-war USS Constellation, the last sail-only warship designed and built by the U.S. Navy. The fleet is spread along the Inner Harbor piers: the Constellation at Pier 1, the World War II submarine USS Torsk and the lightship Chesapeake at Pier 3, and the Coast Guard cutter WHEC-37 and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse at Pier 5. WHEC-37 is the last surviving warship that fought in the attack on Pearl Harbor, and Torsk is credited with the U.S. Navy's last sinking of an enemy ship in World War II. All five are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the four ships are National Historic Landmarks.
