Iron-on patch

Harry P. Leu Gardens

$8.00

Harry P. Leu Gardens is a botanical garden of nearly 50 acres at 1920 North Forest Avenue in Orlando, Florida, with landscaped grounds and lakes and trails shaded by old oaks. Harry and Mary Jane Leu bought the property and its house in 1936, traveled the world collecting plants, and brought back more than 240 varieties of camellia. The Leus deeded the house and gardens to the City of Orlando in 1961. The restored Leu House Museum at the center of the grounds shows turn-of-the-century Florida living, and a 15-acre section was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994 as the Mizell-Leu House Historic District.
