Guernsey State Park

Guernsey State Park, along the North Platte River near Guernsey, Wyoming, is one of the state's oldest parks and was largely built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Its museum, a hand-built structure of native timber and stone, is a National Historic Landmark considered a notable example of rustic National Park Service-style architecture. The park sits on Guernsey Reservoir and offers boating and fishing. Nearby are the Oregon Trail Ruts, deep grooves cut into sandstone by thousands of 19th-century wagon wheels, and Register Cliff, where emigrants carved their names as they passed through.
