Fort Worden Historical State Park

Fort Worden Historical State Park, in Port Townsend, Washington, was one of three coastal artillery forts, along with Fort Casey and Fort Flagler, built around the turn of the 20th century to defend the entrance to Puget Sound, a defensive network sometimes called the 'Triangle of Fire.' The Army decommissioned the post in 1953, and its well-preserved officers' row houses and parade ground remain intact. The fort has since been used as a filming location for movies including 'An Officer and a Gentleman' and 'Ten Things I Hate About You.' Today it includes a conference center, a marine science center, and public beach access.
