Field of Dreams Movie Site

The Field of Dreams movie site is a baseball diamond carved into a working Iowa farm outside Dyersville, built by Universal Pictures in 1988 for the following year's film of the same name. Don Lansing's family had farmed the land since his grandparents bought it in 1906, and after the movie's release, fans kept showing up asking to play catch on the field, so the Lansings kept it mowed and open to visitors for decades. The property changed hands in 2012 to a company called Go the Distance Baseball, which built out youth-tournament fields around the original diamond, and Major League Baseball played a regular-season game beside the cornfield in August 2021.
