Iron-on patch

Encanto Park

$8.00

Encanto Park is a 222-acre public park in central Phoenix, bounded by Thomas Road, Encanto Boulevard, 15th Avenue and 7th Avenue. Its centerpiece is a 7.5-acre lagoon about six feet deep, used for fishing and boating, with a boathouse on its shore. The park also has picnic areas, a swimming pool, a nature trail and two golf courses, and inside it sits Enchanted Island, a small amusement park with rides, games and a miniature railroad that circles the area. The land became a City of Phoenix park in 1934, when the quitclaim deed took effect on November 27, and bond programs in 1979 and 1984 added bike paths, jogging trails and sports facilities. It has been designated a Phoenix Point of Pride.
