Iron-on patch

East Village Arts District

$8.00

The East Village Arts District is the southeastern part of downtown Long Beach, roughly between Long Beach Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue from Ocean Boulevard north to 10th Street. It is the city's arts district, where most of the independent shops, restaurants and galleries show work by Long Beach and Southern California artists. The neighborhood mixes high-rise condos, artist lofts and small Craftsman cottages, and its shops sell everything from designer denim and sneakers to used books and mid-century furniture. The monthly Second Saturday art walk is held here, and the area has hosted the SoundWalk sound art festival. On Ocean Boulevard at Linden Avenue stands the twelve-story Cooper Arms, a 1923 Renaissance Revival apartment tower listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
