Cook Forest State Park

Cook Forest State Park, near Cooksburg, Pennsylvania, protects the Forest Cathedral, a National Natural Landmark containing one of the largest remaining stands of old-growth white pine and eastern hemlock in the northeastern United States. Some of its trees are more than 300 years old and among the tallest in the state, having survived the region's extensive 19th- and early 20th-century logging. The Clarion River runs along the park's edge and is popular for canoeing and kayaking. Established in 1928, it is one of Pennsylvania's oldest state parks.
