Iron-on patch

Charlotte Museum of History (Hezekiah Alexander Homesite)

$8.00

The Charlotte Museum of History is a history museum at 3500 Shamrock Drive in east Charlotte, North Carolina. It was founded to care for the 1774 Alexander Rock House, a stone house built by Hezekiah Alexander that is the oldest house in Mecklenburg County and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1970. The museum's 36,000-square-foot main building opened in 1999, and its exhibits now cover every period of Charlotte's history. The Rock House and its outbuildings stand a five-minute walk behind the main building, with tours of the house on the hour. The grounds also hold the Siloam School, a historic Rosenwald school that the museum moved to the site in 2023 and reopened in 2024.
