Camel's Hump State Park

Camel's Hump, near Waterbury, Vermont, is the state's third-highest peak at 4,083 feet and one of the few major Vermont summits never developed for skiing or a road to the top. Its distinctive double-humped profile is visible for miles across the Champlain Valley. The peak is crossed by the Long Trail, and its exposed summit supports fragile alpine tundra vegetation similar to habitat found much farther north, which hikers are asked to avoid stepping on. The mountain and surrounding forest are protected as a natural area.
