Iron-on patch

Buffalo City Hall

$8.00

Buffalo City Hall is the 32-story Art Deco seat of city government at 65 Niagara Square, completed in 1931 to designs by George J. Dietel and John Wade of Dietel, Wade & Jones. At 398 feet it is one of the largest and tallest municipal buildings in the United States, with friezes by Albert Stewart and sculpture executed by Rene Paul Chambellan. An observation deck on the 28th floor, about 360 feet up, looks out over the city and Lake Erie; elevators go to the 25th floor and stairs climb the rest. The deck and a one-hour guided tour are free on weekdays. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
