Iron-on patch

Buffalo AKG Art Museum

$8.00

The Buffalo AKG Art Museum, formerly the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, is a museum of modern and contemporary art on the western edge of Delaware Park. Its parent, the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, was founded in 1862, making it one of the oldest public arts institutions in the United States. The Greek Revival Albright Art Gallery, designed by Edward Brodhead Green, opened in 1905, and Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill added a modernist wing in 1962. A 2019-2023 expansion by OMA's Shohei Shigematsu added the circular glass Gundlach Building, and the museum reopened under its new name in 2023. It is named for its three major donors, John J. Albright, Seymour H. Knox II and Jeffrey Gundlach.
