Boston Avenue Methodist Church is a downtown Tulsa church completed in 1929 and regarded as one of the finest examples of Art Deco church architecture in the United States. Its design is credited to two people: art teacher Adah Robinson, who sketched the original concept and its praying-hands motif, and her former student Bruce Goff, who turned those sketches into the building as a young architect at the firm of Rush, Endacott and Rush. The church has a semicircular auditorium and a 225-foot tower, and its limestone and terra-cotta exterior carries sculptures by Robert Garrison, including mounted Methodist circuit riders over the south entrance. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and named a National Historic Landmark in 1999.
