Iron-on patch

Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge

$8.00

The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is a cable-stayed footbridge across the Missouri River between Omaha, Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa. Its west end is at Omaha's riverfront beside Lewis & Clark Landing, and its east end lands in Council Bluffs, so a walk across takes you from one state to the other. The HNTB design has two 200-foot towers and 52 feet of clearance over the river; construction began in 2006 and the bridge opened in 2008. It is named for former Nebraska senator Bob Kerrey, who secured federal funding for it, and locals call it Bob the Bridge.
