Iron-on patch

Bluff Park

$8.00

Bluff Park is a neighborhood on the bluffs above the beach in Long Beach, named for the narrow 25.8-acre park that runs between Ocean Boulevard and the edge of the bluff. The free park is used by joggers, walkers and dog walkers, and hobbyists fly radio-controlled gliders on the updrafts off the bluff; a replica of the Lone Sailor statue honors the city's naval heritage. Behind it, the Bluff Park Historic District, created in 1982, protects early-1900s homes in Craftsman, California Bungalow, Spanish Revival, Prairie, Colonial Revival, Tudor and Mediterranean styles. The Long Beach Museum of Art occupies the Elizabeth Milbank Anderson House on the bluff, and a former convent on Ocean Boulevard is now a Buddhist monastery.
