Babcock State Park lies in the Allegheny Mountains near Fayetteville, West Virginia, along Glade Creek. Its best-known feature is the Glade Creek Grist Mill, a fully functional water-powered mill built in 1976 using parts salvaged from three historic West Virginia mills; it has become one of the most photographed structures in the state. The park's forested trails pass waterfalls, rhododendron thickets, and stands of hemlock, and a small lake offers canoeing and fishing. It is close to the New River Gorge, one of the deepest river gorges in the eastern United States.
